We... Can't Happen...

    Slowly, carefully, she stalked into the woods. The trees were blanketed in a dark blanket of black, branches here and there illuminated a gorgeous gray by the brilliant moonlight peeking beyond the tree tops. She looked around, straightening up slightly. "Emerald...?" She called out quietly, peeking around trees as the darkness began to send shivers down her spine. As the seconds ticked by her fear grew, until she heard a voice softly call out her name, nearly scaring her to death.
     "Freya?" He stalked out from behind the trees and met her gaze as he ruffled his wings into a comfortable position, as he had two sets, equaling to four wings total.
      She sighed softly, relieved as she smiled softly. "I was worried you weren't arriving tonight. Emerald, we have to talk. I-"
       "You don't want to meet me here anymore, do you?" She was shocked at his sudden and accurate guess. His eyes held a soft and depressing glow. "That's what you wanted to talk about, isn't it?"
        "Emerald please understand, I can't be with you, th-there cant be an us," she stressed, tears pricking the edges of her eyes. "I can't let them find out. They won't hurt me but they'll hate you, banish you, k-kill-" she choked on her words as a lump found its way into her throat. 'We can't be together, an alchemist and a scientist would never work... it's forbidden...'
         His eyes held nothing but love as she looked at him and he drew closer, bumping his muzzle affectionately against hers. "I understand, and it's okay. But regardless of not seeing each other anymore or if they find out and throw me out or... take me away, I won't stop loving you. Nothing will keep me from doing that."
          She let out a quiet sob and nuzzled against him, relishing in the warmth he was radiating in comparison to the cold night. "And I will love you as long as you allow me."
          "Then our love will reign for an eternity. And more..."
